Marching with Pride
Women’s College Hospital is proud to have been named the Honoured Group of Pride Month 2019 by Pride Toronto, chosen for its commitment to improving access to transition-related care for the trans community in Toronto and beyond.
Over Pride Festival weekend, Women’s College Hospital and WCH Foundation staff and volunteers were proud to march in solidarity with Pride Toronto and the LGBTQ2+ community, participating in the Trans March, Dyke March and Pride Parade to celebrate and champion a healthier and more equitable world for all.

Pride & Remembrance Run: Creating access to compassionate care
On June 22, Women’s College Hospital and WCH Foundation once again participated in the annual Pride & Remembrance Run. Women’s College Hospital Foundation is honoured to be a recipient of the Run’s first multi-year pledge, a commitment to raise $100,000 over a three-year period for the Pride & Remembrance Compassionate Fund at WCH’s Transition-Related Surgery Program.
Organized by the Pride & Remembrance Association, the Pride & Remembrance Run is a 5km run/walk that takes place in Toronto each June.
The Pride & Remembrance Compassionate Fund at Women’s College Hospital is designed to assist trans people who are facing financial challenges and are undergoing transition-related surgery at WCH. This additional support will help to alleviate the often devastating financial burden of transition-related expenses, ensuring patients have access to comprehensive care regardless of their socio-economic background.
LCBO raises more than a glass for Women’s College Hospital
During Pride Month, Women’s College Hospital Foundation was also proud to be the recipient of funds raised at LCBO locations across Ontario in support of the hospital’s commitment to advancing health equity for all.
From June 10 to June 23, LCBO stores across Toronto raised funds in support of a healthier and more equitable world as part of their #ToastToPride campaign, with the initiative extending province-wide to over 660 stores from June 21 to 23. Customers were able to make a donation at the cash register or purchase a limited-edition Pride-themed tote bag to support Women’s College Hospital, with no purchase of alcohol necessary. All proceeds support Women’s College Hospital’s efforts to provide high-quality, timely and compassionate care for marginalized communities.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the LCBO for stepping forward as a partner in health equity!
Thank you to all of our incredible partners for helping to revolutionize healthcare for everyone!
