“The only way we rise is by lifting each other up.” – Jenny Bird

Women’s College Hospital Foundation (WCHF) is thrilled to share that celebrated designer Jenny Bird has created an exclusive jewelry piece for Women for Women’s, WCHF’s annual fundraising luncheon to be held on November 16th.

The piece is sold out!

Inspired by the story of Women’s College Hospital, its important role in advancing health for women and its steadfast commitment to equity and inclusion, the piece is a powerful statement of community and strength. We sat down with Jenny to chat about what inspired her to lend her craft in support of Women’s College Hospital:

How did you first learn about WCH and what makes it such a good fit for this collaboration?

We are so fortunate to have such an incredible resource here in Toronto. An inclusive, world renowned, revolutionary space. I admire the work that is done within WCH and have benefitted greatly from the hospital’s services personally, so I was happy to get involved.

What resonated with you about WCH and how does this align with your personal values and the values of Jenny Bird jewelry?

It is more important now than ever to spread love in our community and do what we can to elevate those around us. The opportunity to use my craft to help WCH help others, was impossible to decline. If we all do what we can, with what skills we have, to help those around us, imagine the difference we can make.

What inspired you to create the resulting form of the piece?

WCH is an advocate for health equity. They know that a healthy society requires a level playing field where everyone has access to timely, high quality, efficient, and compassionate care. The piece exemplifies the importance of what can happen when we join our individual strengths together and lift each other up. The stones in the piece represent the four key virtues of the Women’s College Hospital community: courage, resilience, compassion, innovation.

Thank you, Jenny Bird, for helping us create a piece with a purpose!
