Cars for Good: How Toronto's Downtown  AutoGroup is supporting WCH’s mobile COVID-19 teams

We continue to be amazed by how the Women’s College Hospital community continues to step up to help meet the most urgent needs of our hospital and patients amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

This couldn’t be truer than with Toronto's Downtown AutoGroup, who, in partnership with Downtown Toyota and Toyota Canada, have graciously stepped forward to support WCH’s mobile COVID-19 teams as they provide testing and vaccines around the city.

Read more about how Downtown Autogroup is helping to provide our teams with access to safe, reliable transit wherever and whenever they need it.

David’s Story: Planning to make a difference

May is Leave a Legacy Month in Canada – a time to consider the impact that we wish to have on the world around us and the legacy we hope to leave behind. For David Aronoff, a long-time patient of Dr. Stephen Holzapfel at Women’s College Hospital’s Family Practice Health Centre, leaving a planned gift to Women’s College Hospital in his Will was the perfect way to ensure he makes a difference, even beyond his own lifetime.

Supporting our Frontline Heroes with double the impact!

In the face of all three of the pandemic’s relentess waves, Women’s College Hospital’s staff have been on the front lines, helping to stop the spread of COVID-19 by providing care, testing and vaccinations across the city and putting the greater needs of our community above all else.

Now more than ever, our frontline heroes need support to see us through to the end of the pandemic. To help care for those who are caring for us, Women’s College Hospital Foundation has established the Frontline Heroes Compassion Fund to support the personal wellness and mental health of Women’s College Hospital staff.

Throughout the month of May, donations made to the Frontline Heroes Compassion Fund are being matched up to $10,000 thanks to the tremendous generosity of WCHF volunteers.

Ankh

From the archives: Celebrating the anniversary of the Ankh

During WCH’s first 50 years, the hospital lacked a coherent “brand”, using a variety of different symbols and slogans to convey its purpose and message to the community. That is, until 1968 when the hospital officially adopted the Ankh to symbolically express the “Spirit of Life” of WCH.

Now a cornerstone of WCH’s brand, click through to learn more about the significance of the Ankh and how it has inspired the hospital’s identity for more than 50 years.
