You Raised Over $360,000 for Women’s Mental Health!
On June 10, 2023, over 2,000 community members took to the starting line both at Women’s College Hospital (WCH) and virtually, to participate in the 11th annual Shoppers Drug Mart® Run for Women in Toronto. To all those who walked, ran, or rolled the 5K, 10K and 1K Little Steps, — thank you for joining us! All proceeds raised directly benefit the Department of Psychiatry at WCH.
“Our department is one of the largest clinical and research departments of its kind in the country, where we focus on women and equity-deserving populations,” says Dr. Simone Vigod, Head of the Department of Psychiatry at WCH.
Over the last 10 years, funding from the Run for Women has helped WCH do exciting research and innovation in women’s mental health.

WCH’s Department of Psychiatry has a special focus on the unique mental healthcare needs of women. Over the past decade, funds raised by generous supporters like you have helped us support over 30,000 patient visits per year in the department. This includes patients like Jennifer Stubbs Guy, who was in attendance for the Toronto Run for Women, and is now thriving thanks to the care she received from the Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Vigod says “It is really thanks to you that we can support our department, and patients like Jennifer.”
The Shoppers Drug Mart® Run for Women stretches across 18 Canadian cities and has collectively raised over $16 million for local charities, creating solutions for women who need mental health support.
