Women for Women’s: $590,000 raised!
On Tuesday, March 8, over 1,000 guests tuned in virtually from across the country to celebrate International Women’s Day at Women for Women’s – Women’s College Hospital Foundation’s signature fundraising gala!
We are thrilled to announce that the event raised an incredible $590,000 to fuel the healthcare revolution and to help give every woman every chance for the best health possible.
Of that amount, $201,376 was raised during the event’s live fundraising moment to support Dr. Kelly Metcalfe’s revolutionary research into cancer treatment and prevention options for women who are carriers of the BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene mutations.
This year’s event also featured an engaging and inspiring panel discussion moderated by Pauline Chan, Videojournalist, CTV News Toronto and featured Women’s College Hospital leaders Dr. Rulan Parekh, Vice President, Academics; Dr. Jennifer Price, Clinical Programs & Corporate Nurse and Professional Practice Executive; and Dr. Simone Vigod, Head, Department of Psychiatry.
Layne the Auctionista (@The_Auctionista) made their third appearance at Women for Women’s to lead our fundraising efforts, and the Taiko drumming group Raging Asian Womxn (@rawtaiko) opened and closed the show with powerful performances.
