Looking ahead to 2023 with optimism and gratitude

As we ring in the New Year and celebrate the end of 2022, the Foundation is looking back on another eventful year full of possibility and potential. While the end of lockdowns didn’t necessarily mean the end of COVID-19 impacting the lives of those within the hospital, staff, and our community – it did mean that we could begin to gather again together in smaller capacities.

For the Foundation, that meant having the chance to welcome our donor community back into the hospital for tours, and we look forward to once again – and hopefully soon – hosting events that bring our entire community of supporters together in our beautiful space.

2022 also proved that our hospital’s unique mission and model of care has the potential to impact our patient’s lives in huge and exciting ways. Our philosophy of centering on the margins, embracing virtual care, and building a healthcare system that must evolve and focus on the unique needs of women throughout their life spans shows that Women’s College Hospital isn’t just relevant, but necessary for our world.

Nobody knows this more than our donors. The transformational contributions from our donor community continue to help Women’s College Hospital as an accelerator for change and innovation in healthcare.

From securing $4 million towards the upgrade of our breast imaging equipment, which will be installed and ready to deliver cutting-edge care to our patients in the next few months, to the annual Shoppers Drug Mart™ Run For Women, which raised a record-breaking $400,000 for the Department of Psychiatry – your continued dedication gave us another year of hope, energy, and impact.

This past year, we have showed up for each other like never before, providing support where it was needed most. As we look forward to 2023, we are grateful to say that this marks 140 years of beating the status quo and making revolutionary advancements in healthcare for women and for all.  We look forward to celebrating this milestone with our entire community of supporters later this year.

Thank you for your dedication to building a healthier, more equitable healthcare system and we look forward to continuing our trailblazing efforts for years to come!

With gratitude,
