Today marks Sandra’s first day as she officially joins the WCHF team. Sandra brings a wealth of experience to the Foundation, including in her most recent role as President and CEO of Humber River Health Foundation. Read on to learn more about Sandra, what she admires about Women’s, and what excites her about the future.
Why did you decide to join Women’s College Hospital Foundation?
I have always been a passionate advocate for equitable healthcare access, and no other organization is as dedicated to ensuring that women and equity-deserving individuals receive the care they deserve. With the launch of Women’s College Hospital’s Healthcare Revolutionized 2030 strategy, it’s also a pivotal moment to join the team – I am excited to play a vital role in bringing this strategy to life, and hope to contribute to a more inclusive and fair healthcare system for all women.
Tell us a little about how you approach your work
My approach has always been collaborative. Meaningful change can’t happen in isolation. At Women’s College Hospital Foundation, I am committed to working closely with our team to develop a comprehensive strategy that strengthens partnerships with hospitals, community organizations, patients and families. The goal is to foster growth and advance our shared vision of a healthier and more equitable world, for everyone.
What excites you most about your new role?
I am honoured to lead the WCHF team and to have the opportunity to amplify the incredible work happening at WCH. I look forward to collaborating closely with hospital leaders, the Board of Directors, and WCH’s dedicated community of supporters to empower women and those marginalized in the healthcare system.
